  1. Who are the People of the United States? the people of the united states are people who live here. amaricans.
  2. What is a Union? a group of people working together. 
  3. What is Justice? being fair
  4. What is the meaning of “domestic Tranquility”? peace
  5. What is the “common defense”? protection of a whole country against foreign attack.
  6. What is the “general Welfare”? provides that the governing body empowered by the document may enact laws to promote the general welfare of the people.
  7. What are the “Blessings of Liberty” and “Posterity”? being free
  8. What is the meaning of “ordain”? another word for appointed
  • Founding Fathers-  political leaders and statesmen who participated in the amarican revolution by signing the united states decliration of independance, taking part in the amarican revolution war, establishing the united states constitution, or by some other key contribution.
  • domestic tranquility- the idea that a federal government should be powerful enough and have the authority to quell rebellions and prevent violent conflict between lower levels of governments, such as between the states.
  • blessings of liberty- Free speech, the right to peacably assemble, freedom of religion, the right to own property, the right to travel freely within and between states, etc.
  • constitution- supreme law of the united states
  • union- an organization of workers who act together to secure benefits and rights in the workplace.
  • posterity- the people who will live in the future after you are dead.
  • bill of right- collective name for the first ten amendments
  • justice-  the act of being just and/or fair
  • ordain-  to establish or order by appointment, decree, or law
  • amendments- make up the bill or rights
  • common defense- protection of a whole country against foreign attack.
  • preamble-  an introductory and expressionary statement in a document that explains the document's purpose and underlying philosophy.
  • general welfare- provides that the governing body empowered by the document may enact laws to promote the general welfare of the people.
